Eagle Lake: Incredible as always! Eagle Lake is without any doubt the premier rainbow trout still water in California. The fish average 19 inches and weigh 2-3 pounds. You can expect 21 inch fish on a daily basis with some 25 inch models on the cloudy days to add on your trophy photo wall. Eagle is the second largest natural body of water in the state. The Eagle Lake species of trout are indigenous to the lake and have been planted successfully in huge numbers all over California. Eagle has been managed by the Cal DFG as a trophy trout fishery and has special regulations to insure quality fishing during the season. I hold great regard to the conscientious local guides, fisherman, business folk, and agencies that look after this incredible resource.
2013 Spring Eagle Lake dates & rates
Booking dates: May 30th through July 1st. Cost $525.00 2 ppl/add $100.00 for a third angler. You are responsible for lodging, all meals (including boat lunches), and a fishing license. We will provide all necessary fishing gear. The links below are where we suggest you make lodging accommodations. I have been dealing with these fine people for many years and strongly recommend their services. We start the day early so staying in Spalding where you are only a few minutes from the boat docks is very convenient. We will be guiding on twin 24 foot Ranger bay boats with 250hp. A third boat may be arranged if you have a large group that requires another fish magnet. This is my tenth season guiding on Eagle and I still believe it to be the finest rainbow trout still water in California. Click on contact us or trip request on our navigation bar at the top of this page and specify Eagle Lake to book online.
Available Dates: June 2nd, (three boats open) 3, 4, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 30, & July 1st one boat open for these dates.
These dates are subject to change at any time. *If you require a date that is already booked, give us a call and we may be able to arrange a trip.

Spectacular Eagle Lake rainbow trout are the hardest pulling around
Where to stay:
Eagle Lake RV Park ~This is one of the cleanest and well run RV parks you will find with beautiful views of the lake. If you don’t have your own RV they also rent small cabins and trailers which are really nice. These folks are super friendly and will take good care of you. The Eagle Lake RV Park has all my fly patterns developed for Eagle Lake, and the Under-Cator strike indicator in stock. There is also a good selection of larger trolling flies that imitate the Tui-Chubs @ Eagle and have been used with good success by famous Eagle Lake guides Ronnie Beck and Timmy Noxon. Tell the friendly folks that work there I said howdy!
Heritage Land Vacation Rentals: They have a bunch of rental properties and are good people we have dealt with a lot over the years. Susanville has great motels and good restaurants but you will need to drive about 45 minutes one way to get to Spalding.
High Country Inn in Susanville seems to be the favorite amongst the return folks and they are very well located for all your needs. (530) 257-3450. There is also a casino/motel near Susanville and those that have stayed here love it. Inexpensive clean rooms and very good food 24 hours a day. Diamond Mountain Casino.
