Dear Mr. Ferrin:
In the spirit of the holiday season I am writing to share with my fellow
fly fishermen what surely must be one of the best kept secrets around, namely
Sierra Drifters, a guide service handling the Eastern Sierra's from Bridgeport
to Bishop.
My companion and I had the good fortune of taking a drift boat trip down
the Lower Owen's River earlier this week with Sierra Drifter's owner Tom Loe. As
the beneficiary of many past guided trips throughout the western states I can
say without hesitation that this was the best fishing experience I have ever
had. Mr. Loe possesses the rare combination of qualities that one looks for in a
guide but seldom finds; aside from being a consumate professional thoroughly
knowledgeable of his craft and local waters, he was also a most pleasant
companion. And that's not all. In our seven hour trip we hooked up over forty
fish and boated twenty-seven, including a beautiful rainbow estimated at four
pounds.
