Sierra Nevada Fly Fishing guide Matt Fitzgerald grew up in Glendora, Ca and started taking an interest in fishing at a young age. He would spend many vacations in Mammoth with his parents, and it is here, in the eastern sierra that he really fell in love with fishing. While Matt thoroughly enjoyed trout fishing, he also spent a lot of time on his Uncle’s boat fishing in the ocean and going after larger game species like tuna and yellowtail. Matt also enjoys chasing Corbina in the surf, so any species of fish is fair game with this guide.
After spending many years in San Clemente, Matt decided to make the move to the eastern sierra and pursue his passion for chasing trout. Matt is also an avid hunter and chasing waterfowl during the winter is one of his favorite activites with his trusty dog.Once Matt started fly fishing for trout, he was hooked for life. He has a real gift for teaching the sport to his clients and improving the skills of anglers of all levels.
